This is one of the most interesting part of the Pacific Theatre in WWII ~ the occupation of China, and especially the chaos that ensued when Shanghai was taken over. The stories of the locals, of the families in the interior of China who made their way to Shanghai, and then to one of my favorite stories ~ The movie “Empire of the Sun” showing another side of this time. A beautiful cover ~ and look forward to this story as well.
